The Music Center’s professional development for educators focuses on arts integration strategies for grades PreK-12 teachers in dance, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts at school sites and at The Music Center. Teachers learn creative and effective approaches to integrate the arts into their content areas. Lessons and experiences are rooted in the California Arts Standards, Common Core, 21st Century Learning Skills and Social Emotional Learning. We seek to expand on current teaching models, including strengthening school learning communities, advancing best practices, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and lesson planning.
In the summer of 2021, The Music Center offered the first-ever virtual Arts Integration Symposium! This three-day online symposium featured a variety of virtual professional development sessions for TK-12 classroom teachers, arts teachers and educators led by expert teaching artists in dance, media arts, music, theatre and visual arts.
The Teaching Artist Training is a course for new and experienced teaching artists in dance, music, theatre, visual arts and media arts. This 30-hour training focuses on building and increasing artists' capacity to work creatively and effectively in TK-12 classrooms.

When we speak of our vision to deepen the cultural lives of all Angelenos, we turn to the work of TMC Arts. This team champions the diverse voices and communities of Los Angeles, fostering connection, creativity and enrichment. TMC Arts programs connect people, offering us the chance to get creative and to learn as we discover something new or enjoy something familiar. Many programs are free and low-cost; they take place outdoors on Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center and in Grand Park, inside The Music Center's theatres and in schools and neighborhoods all across L.A. County.
