TEACHING ARTIST TRAINING 2020

Registration is now closed.

Professional Development

The Music Center’s professional development for educators focuses on arts integration strategies for grades PreK-12 teachers in dance, music, theatre, and visual arts at school sites and The Music Center. Teachers learn creative and effective approaches to integrate the arts into their content areas. Lessons and experiences are rooted in the Visual and Performing Arts Standards, Common Core, 21st Century Learning Skills and Social Emotional Learning. We seek to expand on current teaching models, including strengthening school learning communities, advancing best practices, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and lesson planning.

Summer Arts Studio for Educators

Each year, The Music Center offers the Summer Arts Studio for Educators. This program provides workshops tailored for educators at all grade levels and aligned to multiple content areas.Formerly known as The Institute for Educators, this program consists of three weeks of arts integration trainings designed for grades PreK-12 classroom teachers, arts teachers and educators at The Music Center.
