About the Symphonians
The Music Center Symphonians are the volunteer docents of The Music Center. The group began offering tours in 1965 following the opening of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and now offers free tours of The Music Center’s four theatres and open spaces.
Guests range from school children who have never had the experience of seeing live music or theatre and local residents visiting The Music Center for the first time, to visitors from around the country and the world and The Music Center’s own ticket holders or event attendees. Guests leave with an expanded knowledge of the performing arts center’s history, art, architecture and the wonderful programs presented by The Music Center Arts and The Music Center’s resident companies.
Symphonians participate in other events at The Music Center including The Blue Ribbon Children's Festival, The Music Center’s Very Special Arts Festival, anniversary celebrations, LA Phil new subscriber tours and Subscriber Appreciation Day.
We Invite your Participation
We are always seeking dedicated volunteers, both women and men, to join our organization.
If you love the arts and enjoy sharing this enthusiasm with the public, we invite you to consider joining the Symphonians. We are honored to represent one of the nation’s top cultural arts centers and enjoy sharing our knowledge with the people who visit The Music Center.
In addition to Symphonians’ touring responsibilities, members attend monthly meetings where artists and leaders from The Music Center Arts and The Music Center’s resident companies share background information and their talents; social and special events; and opportunities to see Music Center performances.
