Experience the creative Mediterranean Island-themed cuisine from Chef Ryan Costanza, known for his work as executive chef at both Freedman’s and Greekman’s in Silverlake and Dija Mara in San Diego, which was Eater’s 2018 Restaurant of the Year. The restaurant features both indoor and patio seating.
As a destination restaurant, Abernethy’s offers diners the opportunity to taste cultures and explore food as emerging chefs are offered their own platform for culinary creativity. Each new chef transforms Abernethy’s with inventive and personalized dishes inspired by the diverse people and cultures that fill the heart of Los Angeles. Chefs were selected by some of L.A.’s legendary chefs and tastemakers, including Chefs Govind Armstrong, Susan Feniger, Ray Garcia, Niki Nakayama and Curtis Stone, along with tastemakers such as Phil Rosenthal (Somebody Feed Phil host and creator) and Russ Parsons (writer/former Los Angeles Times food editor). Top Chef finalist Shirley Chung (Ms Chi Café) was Abernethy’s inaugural chef, serving her version of progressive Chinese American cuisine, followed by Jason Fullilove (chef/owner, Barbara Jean) who served modern Soul food. Chef Geter Atienza (Chef de Cuisine, The H. Wood Group; Broken Spanish) will follow Chef Costanza. Additional chefs will be announced.
