MUSYCA Children's Choir is a performance-based vocal music education program for children and youth in Los Angeles. MUSYCA singers serve the community through their performances, charitable event appearances, sound recordings and collaborations. MUSYCA collaborated with Jennifer Lopez, Camila Cabello, Jennifer Hudson, DJ Mustard, Ella Mai, Newsboys, Rihanna, Ty Dolla Sign and many other prominent artists, producers and composers. The voices of MUSYCA singers are featured in motion picture soundtracks (Boy Erased, Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets), movie trailers and commercials. MUSYCA’s television credits include the “L.A. County Holiday Celebration” (PBS SoCal), “Home and Family Show” (Hallmark Channel), NBC Channel 4 News, “The OA“(Netflix series), “Fresh off the Boat”, “Single Parents” (ABC) and “Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards”. The choir represents Los Angeles on domestic and international tours, with past performances in New York, Washington D.C., France, Austria, Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Spain. MUSYCA is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture and the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
Dr. Mikhail Shtangrud is the artistic director of MUSYCA Children’s Choir. He also serves as artistic director of the Burbank Chorale and teaches at the USC Thornton School of Music. As MUSYCA's artistic director, Shtangrud coached singers and led choirs on numerous hit music records, including the Grammy-nominated album Ella Mai by Ella Mai (Best R&B album, 2020). Shtangrud’s amazing choirs and voice students perform at the top venues in the U.S. and worldwide, sing in concert on Broadway and on operatic stages, appear in film and television and collaborate with leading composers, producers and musical artists.
Dr. Anna Krendel is the founder and executive director of MUSYCA Children's Choir. Her versatile piano performance career spans from recitals, chamber music concerts and choral performances to studio work and movie soundtracks. She also enjoys working with producers, artists, composers, musicians and singers, coordinating projects for film and television, soundtracks, recordings and live performances in Los Angeles. Born in Ukraine, Krendel studied piano performance at the Kharkiv Conservatory of Music. She earned her doctor of musical arts degree in piano performance from the University of Southern California.
Beto Hale is a producer, composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Mexico City. He now lives in Los Angeles, where he owns Los Olivos Recording Studios. Beto has released five solo albums of original music and has collaborated with some of the music industry’s most recognized producers, musicians and artists.
