Colin Cox, a professor of Shakespeare, playwright, actor, teacher and director was born at Stonehenge in England, third rock on the left. Growing up as the son of a British army officer, Colin traveled from place to place throughout his childhood and youth, staying only for short periods of time in each place. He then embarked upon a career in biochemistry at the University of Bristol, University of Sussex, and the University Hospital of Wales. At the same time, as a member of the acclaimed National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, Colin travelled the globe performing Shakespeare.
However, after stints in China and Japan working as a biochemist, Colin made the unusual choice to move to Hollywood, California, to work as an actor! Manifesting this dream, he founded the nationally acclaimed Will & Company theatre ensemble in Los Angeles. Under the guidance of Colin, in his role as Artistic Director, Will & Company has presented twelve of his plays nationally, performing them at more than 600 colleges in all 50 states. Also, Will & Company is on The Music Center On Tour roster; the troupe has toured 21 plays throughout California, reaching more than five million young people.
He is very proud to continue his long standing relationship with the Music Center as both a teaching and touring artist.
