Born in 1987 to a sign maker and seamstress, Levi Ponce has been studying art and form since childhood. He began painting signage with his father in 1990 which lead to a great deal of travel throughout Los Angeles. After graduating from California State University, Northridge in 2009, Levi began painting and organizing the creation of murals in LA. These murals go beyond paint - they are community projects that bring together a wide range of artists, business owners, and youth. Together they transform defaced city walls into works of art for both locals and visitors to enjoy. These efforts to beautify and inspire people to take control of their communities have led to the re-discovery of the corridor now known as Mural Mile in Pacoima, CA.
He applies his skills in a variety of creative fields. In 2015, Walt Disney Imagineering contracted Levi to create artwork for forthcoming Disney attractions around the world including: The World of Pandora, Frozen, and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. He has also done digital compositing for such films as Star Wars The Force Awakens (2015) and Interstellar (2014). His works are featured at the Skirball Cultural Center and Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles and the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo Ateneo de Yucatán (MACAY) in Mexico.
Levi has received numerous local and national recognitions for his artistry and community building efforts. In 2014, MSN’s Lantinzine named Levi as one of the "Top 10 Latinos To Watch" in the United States.
