The Music Center Symphonians are the volunteer docents of the Los Angeles County Music Center. In 1965 the group began giving tours after the opening of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and now offers free tours of all of Music Center’s four theaters:

In addition to our regularly scheduled public tours, we offer special group tours which are available through the Music Center’s Guest Services   office.

Our guests range from school children who have never had the experience of seeing live music or theater to our own ticket holders.  We see   local residents who are   visiting the facility   for the first time, and thousands of visitors from around the country and the world. Our guests leave with an expanded knowledge of the history, art, architecture and an appreciation of the wonderful programs our Music Center presents.

Symphonians also participate in other events at the Music Center including the Blue Ribbon Children's Festival, the Very Special Arts Festival, anniversary celebrations, Los Angeles Philharmonic New Subscriber Tours and Subscriber Appreciation Day.

We Invite your Participation

We are dedicated volunteers, both women and men, who represent varied backgrounds, ages and ethnicities.

The ideal Symphonian is a person who loves the arts and who wants to share this enthusiasm and knowledge with the people who visit the Music Center.  A Symphonian enjoys interacting with the public and takes pride in representing one of the best cultural venues in the country.

Along with our touring responsibilities, we attend monthly meetings where artists and leaders from our Music Center’s performing companies share background information   and their talents.
