The West Coast's Largest New Year's Eve Celebration

For the seventh year, Grand Park + The Music Center’s N.Y.E.L.A. will be the go-to central gathering place in Los Angeles as the West Coast’s flagship New Year’s celebration! Free for all ages and expanded to include The Music Center Plaza, this unique civic event brings together Angelenos and visitors from around the globe to usher in 2020 at L.A.’s biggest music and dance party. Starring L.A.’s best DJs and bands, Grand Park + The Music Center’s N.Y.E.L.A. will also feature its signature 3-D video projection and light show on the side of the iconic City Hall with pyrotechnics to ring in the New Year. Party-goers will also enjoy an array of food trucks on-site serving up various culinary delights available for purchase.

Food & Drink Policy

Outside food is welcome in backpacks or totes. Coolers are not permitted in the event space.

The size of bags and backpacks/totes must be standard backpack size or smaller (16.75 inches x 13 inches x 8.5 inches).

No outside beverages including juice and soda (sealed juice boxes are the only exception). Only empty, non glass water bottles are allowed. Park water fountains and water for purchase booths will be available in the event space. Food vendor booths will be available throughout event space.

Safety

Event entrance protocol includes mandatory bag checks, pat downs and metal detector wands for all patrons. To ensure lines move as quickly as possible, please plan ahead and read all event info below to know what is allowed and what is prohibited. Early arrival is recommended. Your patience is appreciated.

  • Empty reusable non-glass water containers.

  • Alcohol
  • Bags and backpacks measuring larger than standard backpack size (16.75 inches x 13 inches x 8.5 inches)
  • Bicycles (parking for bicycles is available outside of event at Hill Street and West 2nd Street)
  • Chairs
  • Coolers
  • Confetti cannons
  • Drones (including drone operation)
  • Explosives
  • Firearms
  • Firecrackers
  • Flag poles
  • Generators
  • Glass
  • Identity-covering
  • Costumes
  • Narcotics
  • Sealed or open beverage bottles with liquid, including water (fountains and water for purchase will be available)

  • Printed signage measuring larger than 8.5 inches x 11 inches

  • Selfie sticks

The following is also prohibited:

  • Amplified Noise
  • Outside solicitation
  • Public intoxication

  • Staking objects to the ground
  • Unauthorized vending
  • Vaping

N.Y.E.L.A. is an alcohol-free, family-friendly event; no beer garden or point of purchase. No alcohol is permitted in the event space.

This is a space for unity – where Angelenos and visitors from all around the world can celebrate together. Any bullying, discrimination, or hateful acts are not allowed in this space.  If you are an attendee, and you see something, say something.
