Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center
Spend your summer nights at The Music Center with music and dancing under the stars on Jerry Moss Plaza! The Music Center’s Summer SoundWaves, a new outdoor music experience featuring affordable, family-friendly concerts, presents the sounds of Los Angeles with the musical fusions of Afro-Mexican rhythms and pulsating electronic dance beats.

Reinvigorating the roots music of Latinidad with a modern thrust, the band will entertain fans before heading out on a nationwide tour! Las Cafeteras will be joined by Crisia Regalado from Sin Color and Moisés Baquiero from El Conjunto Nueva Ola, along with dancers from Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles, who have created choreography specifically for this program.
Masks are required for all guests 2 years of age and older for entry into the concert.
About the Artists
"...uniquely Angeleno mishmash of punk, hip-hop, beat music, cumbia and rock." --Los Angeles Times
Las Cafeteras has taken the music scene by storm with its infectious live performances that cross genre and musical borders. The band has toured the world, bringing its electric sound and energy, playing shows from the Bonnaroo to the Hollywood Bowl, WOMAD New Zealand to Montreal Jazz and beyond. Born and raised east of the Los Angeles River, Las Cafeteras is remixing roots music and telling modern-day stories to create a vibrant musical fusion with a unique East L.A. sound and positive message. The group’s Afro-Mexican beats, rhythms and rhymes deliver inspiring lyrics that document stories of a community seeking love and justice in the concrete jungle of Los Angeles.
