The Blue Ribbon is the premier women's support organization of The Music Center. 


Blue Ribbon members make an annual contribution of $2,500 to support both The Music Center's resident companies and its arts education and community programs. Since its inception more than 50 years ago, The Blue Ribbon has contributed $75 million to support the performing arts.


Blue Ribbon members fully staff and support the annual three day Blue Ribbon Children's Festival, which brings 18,000 5th graders to The Music Center - many for the first-time ever. Members are also responsible for The Festival’s full funding through an endowment and the continued generosity of The Blue Ribbon’s members.


Friendships made in The Blue Ribbon last a lifetime. Members meet each other and their families through the variety of stimulating activities planned throughout the year, including:

  • Exclusive looks and behind-the-scenes tours of public and private art collections across Los Angeles
  • The Blue Ribbon Small Board Luncheons - Board members all over Los Angeles host fellow Blue Ribbon members for lunch and conversation.
  • Other events include private viewings at museums, special performing arts events, fashion shows and other exclusive experiences.

Joining The Blue Ribbon

A candidate for membership in The Blue Ribbon must be proposed by a current member and must also have the support of two current or past board members. The Blue Ribbon Membership Committee is happy to assist candidates in connecting with other Blue Ribbon members to facilitate application.
