On the Day You Were Born
On the Day You Were Born, a book by Debra Frasier, served as the inspiration for a play of the same title created by In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre. This delightful and creative enactment of the birth and welcoming of each child into the world, shows the result of taking ideas from the page and putting them on the stage. Puppetry, paper cult-out illustrations, poetry and music blend to celebrate the natural miracles of the earth and extend a jubilant connection and welcome to each member of the human family. Lessons encourage each person to research the events, songs, news and weather on the day each was born and to make a book of their own personal story. The Power of Nature and The Human Family are the universal themes featured throughout.
