Grand Park + The Music Center's 4th of July Block Party
Join Angelenos from all over L.A. County for the county’s largest free annual 4th of July celebration. Grand Park + The Music Center’s 4th of July Block Party covers several city blocks in Downtown Los Angeles and features all the hallmarks of a classic Independence Day celebration.
Attendees enjoy picnicking, music and dancing and can cap off the celebration with a fireworks show launched from the rooftop of The Music Center’s iconic Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The colorful display is visible throughout the surrounding neighborhoods.
Note: In 2020, the event was virtual and was also televised by ABC7. In 2021, the park curated a month-long public art installation that examined ways to celebrate home and freedom, with Grand Park’s Portraits of Freedom: Building a Life in L.A. We anticipate the live event will return on July 4, 2022.
Grand Park is powered by The Music Center.
When we speak of our vision to deepen the cultural lives of all Angelenos, we turn to the work of TMC Arts. This team champions the diverse voices and communities of Los Angeles, fostering connection, creativity and enrichment. TMC Arts programs connect people, offering us the chance to get creative and to learn as we discover something new or enjoy something familiar. Many programs are free and low-cost; they take place outdoors on Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center and in Grand Park, inside The Music Center's theatres and in schools and neighborhoods all across L.A. County.
