Inca Son
Inca Son, meaning the "sound of the Incas," is a company of musicians and dancers who are National Peruvian Folkdance Champions. Inca Son is a cultural treasure, having performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to the Olympics.
Ccanto Scissors Dancers
Developed as a ritual dance in the south-central Andes of Peru, the Scissors Dance is a jaw-dropping experience! Dancers perform acrobatic moves with athletic ease, while striking the scissors' blades together in a clanging rhythm.
Performance takes place on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. FREE tickets are distributed on Grand Avenue at 2nd Street. Tickets for 11:00 a.m. performance are distributed beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tickets for 12:30 p.m. performance are distributed beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Designed by Music Center Teaching Artists, workshops give children the opportunity to explore the featured culture through unique art-making projects such as calligraphy, puppets, musical instruments, accordion books, textile projects and more. Workshops are available during each World City engagement and are FREE and open to the public.
