Ira Gershwin Gallery at Walt Disney Concert Hall
The Library of Congress Gallery at Walt Disney Concert Hall is the only permanent Library of Congress exhibition outside of Washington DC and provides Angelenos direct access to the Library's rich and diverse collections.
Voices, Votes, Victory: Presidential Campaign Songs, a Library of Congress exhibition, is on display through November 15, 2009. The exhibit boasts a commendable collection of sheet music, engravings, and election song covers to name a few items, presenting an often humorous portrait of political figures and party rivalry. The historic campaign songs offer interesting views of how the candidates in presidential elections were presented by both their devotees as well as their adversaries.
The Gallery, designed by Hodgetts and Fung Design Associates, was made possible by a generous gift from the Ira and Leonore Gershwin Trust for the Benefit of the Library of Congress. The exhibit may be seen while taking a tour or when attending a performance of the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
