| Terrance Laine
Assembly:
Terrance Laine, an award-winning artist, has worked extensively in concert performances, recordings, nightclubs and on television. Using his imagination, talent and experience, he has created a truly unique style of performance that showcases his love for music and his willingness to share his expertise with students. He encourages his audiences to find fun, joy and music in the most ordinary and extraordinary objects. His enthusiasm on stage is a testimony to his talent and to the love he has for his craft. Both programs give audiences the thrilling opportunity to create - and to be part of the past, present and future of music.
Creative Percussion features a special blend of acoustic and electronic instruments, including percussion instruments from around the world, as well as computers, household objects and toys. Students learn how they can make and collect their own instruments, and are given a chance for on-stage participation.
One Man Jam takes the audience 30 years back in time to experience the era when musicians began making music with electronics. Laine "jams" with his machines, his audience and himself. The audience helps create music live on stage, and students learn how they can create their own unique musical compositions.
