| Zun-Zun
Assembly:
ZunZun has spent many years in the
endangered rain forests of the Americas
discovering a vast array of sights, sounds,
stories and songs; now this musical duo
helps audiences celebrate these
discoveries. Using a variety of folkloric
instruments, storytelling and comedy, The
Musical Rain Forest - La Selva Canta evokes
vivid aural landscapes to illuminate the
tales and legends presented. Students
participate and sometimes play
instruments as they learn about the
importance of protecting these
irreplaceable world treasures, our rain
forests. Songs are performed in a mixture
of Spanish/Portuguese and English.
ZunZun, a husband and wife musical theatre duo, has
performed for more than 100,000 people in 14 countries of
the Americas. They have appeared on regional, national and
international stages, and on radio and television. As ZunZun,
Stephen Snyder and Gwynne Cropsey blend music and
storytelling, utilizing various musical genres and over 30
folkloric instruments to highlight the cultures and
environments in North, Central and South America. Their
goal is to inform audiences about how music is created, as
well as how it can be inspired by and linked to our
surroundings, both cultural and environmental. The group
emphasizes themes that foster care and wonder for the
people and the world around us.
