Francisco Martinez Dancetheatre

Assembly: Under the direction of Francisco Martinez, this ballet company performs repertoire ranging from traditional classical ballets to contemporary, abstract and comedic dances. Mr. Martinez' choreography blends classic and modern dance, resulting in a vivid performance that sparkles with wide ranging moods and imaginative movement. In American Collage, the multi-faceted spirit of our nation is reflected through dance set to the inspired music of Scott Joplin, George Gershwin and Aaron Copland. Cancionero features dance to music from Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Cuba, and Mexico. The rich color and power of Martinez' choreography, joined with this beloved music works to increase appreciation for and participation in classical dance, enthralling audiences of all ages.

Workshop: Improvisation/Choreography - Using guided techniques of ballet, modern dance and improvisation, Francisco Martinez brings to students a strong awareness of individual movement. Known for his striking choreography that blends various dance forms, Martinez can tailor workshops to meet specific curricular requirements. Students are exposed to dance techniques, improvisation, cooperation, problem-solving, and the creation of movement for a selected topic or project. Multiple session workshops can culminate in a student-choreographed performance.

Workshop Price:
$100 per 60-minute workshop, plus possible planning fee. Minimum three workshops per day must be scheduled.

Age Group: Grades 3-12
Capacity: 1 Classroom (maximum of 35 students, plus regular teacher)
Availability: Year Round

Teacher In-Service Price: $300/hour (2-hour minimum required).
Capacity: 40 Educators
