Music Center and Estate Gardens by ValleyCrest Announce a Free Gardening Event Providing Personal Advice from the Team that Maintains the Walt Disney Concert Hall Garden
(Los Angeles) - The Music Center of Los Angeles County and Estate Gardens by ValleyCrest announce a free gardening event, titled The Plant Doctor is In, offering expert advice during one-on-one meetings with horticulturalist and designers from Estate Gardens by ValleyCrest. The event is free to the public and takes place on Saturday, May 19, 2007 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Walt Disney Concert Hall garden.
Attendees are encouraged to bring clippings of leaves and flowers to be identified, show photos of areas in need of design advice, or ask general questions about pruning, watering or fertilizing methods. All landscaping or gardening questions are welcomed during the one-on-one meetings. No reservations are necessary and meetings take place on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Estate Gardens by ValleyCrest designs, builds and maintains some of the most impressive estates in Southern California. They are also responsible for the maintenance of the 1-acre Walt Disney Concert Hall garden including its 45 blooming trees and over 200 plant species. Their expert horticulturalists take a personal interest in ongoing maintenance of the garden and can often be found digging, planting and pruning during regular operating hours.
"Based on the success of our quarterly series The Urban Garden Talks and the inquiries from everyday visitors to the Walt Disney Concert Hall garden," states Brian Helgoe, general manager of Estate Gardens by ValleyCrest, "we found that the people are interested to hear how we maintain the Walt Disney Concert Hall garden and how they could apply our techniques in their home gardens and landscape."
