Nominations Now Being Accepted For 25th Annual Music Center Bravo Award Honoring Arts Education
For Immediate Release: July 26, 2006

LOS ANGELES (July 26, 2006) - The Music Center of Los Angeles County, a national leader in arts education, is seeking nominations for the Center's 25th Annual BRAVO Awards, honoring teachers and schools for outstanding arts education. This prestigious award includes a cash prize of $4,000 for each of the two winning teachers and $10,000 for the winning school. Nomination forms are available at musiccenter.org (under "Education and Family Programs") or by calling 213-972-3387.

BRAVO Award nominations are made by principals, faculty committees, superintendents or parents and are due no later than September 13, 2006. Nominees must complete a rigorous application process and a committee of educators and artists reviews every application and selects finalists who will be announced in early February 2007. All nominees and finalists are honored at a gala awards dinner, held on February 27, 2007, where the three BRAVO Award winners are announced. The evening is hosted by acclaimed producer/director Garry Marshall who has emceed the event from its inception.

The Music Center BRAVO Award was established in 1982 to recognize teachers and schools for innovation and excellence in arts education. It honors educators who use the arts to revitalize teaching, enhance student achievement and foster self-esteem, teamwork and cross-cultural communication and understanding. The BRAVO Award is sponsored in part by Club 100, a donor support group for the Music Center's acclaimed educational programs and is an integral part of the Center's leadership in supporting quality arts education for all students.
