Ailey returns to Los Angeles with thrilling programs drawing from company classics, as well as new works brimming with power, performed by dancers hailed as “sleek, athletic masters of the universe.” (The New York Times)
Delight in Ohad Naharin’s Minus 16 featuring an eclectic score ranging from Dean Martin to mambo, techno to traditional Israeli music. This powerful and rousing work is unique in the Ailey repertory for removing the barrier between performers and spectators. "Minus 16 not only delights in its own wackiness, but also celebrates the joy of dancing,” said the San Francisco Chronicle. The piece has elements of unpredictability and fun that makes each performance of Minus 16 delightfully different.
Petite Mort is a tantalizing contemporary ballet blending a classical sensibility with a bold modern wit. Be enthralled by the gorgeous slow movements danced to Mozart’s famed Piano Concertos. Each program will culminate with Alvin Ailey’s timeless masterpiece, Revelations.
