Haven't played in a while and need some stick control?
Ready to tune up your drum and get your chops back?
Participate in an ensemble of snare drums of different sizes and tunings played with a variety of implements (sticks, brushes, mallets, hands, etc.). Participants will explore drumming with a melodic sensibility, experience original compositions, regain solid hand technique, learn concepts for tempo/rhythmic awareness, drum maintenance, and tuning advice.

Admission Fee: Sliding scale from $10 to $25.

Once confirmed, SNARE DRUM CHOIR rehearsals are 3 hours long, 9:30am to 12:30pm, on July 11, July 25, August 8, August 22, September 5, and September 19, and held in ATWATER VILLAGE. A final open rehearsal is scheduled for September 26, 2009 at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
GYCB Snare Drum Choir is for nonprofessional musicians who are familiar with rudiments and the ability to read sheet music. Please provide your own stand and snare drum (no marching drums).

The Music Center is located at 135 N. Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles. Parking is available in Music Center garage for $9. No photography, videotaping, and recordings of any kind allowed.
