SPOTLIGHT AWARDS

The Spotlight performance categories are ballet, non-classical dance, classical voice, non-classical voice, classical instrumental, and jazz instrumental. Unlike other programs that invite video or audiotape submissions, every student in the Spotlight Awards program participates in a live audition before a panel of professionals in their arts discipline. Each student receives a personal letter with specific feedback from the judges identifying their strengths and suggesting areas for improvement. These auditions help the
participants develop essential presentation and performance skills and provide invaluable feedback to advance their artistic development. This level of personal engagement sets the Music Center Spotlight Awards apart from other similar programs.
